A strong morning routine can help you start your day with great energy and confidence. Highly successful people already know this. Everyone has their own definition of success. For some people, it’s getting the kids to school on time, waking up before 9 am, or maybe even getting a promotion at work. No matter what you’re trying to achieve, a goal big or small, here we have put together a list of habits you can start your day with for a triumphant day.
When you allow yourself an extra hour per day, you can increase your time and potential by tenfold. You’ll begin to come up with fresh ideas and begin acting on the things you’ve been putting off, according to Dr Benjamin Hardy, PhD organisational psychologist.
Visualise your goals each morning and write them down. This way you can plan and reflect. How many times have you said to yourself that you’re going to do something and completely gotten carried away by the day? We have all done it. Even two minutes of visualisation and positive thinking, according to research, can enhance your mood and lucidity for the rest of the day.
One of the most frequently reported habits of successful people is relaxing – whether through meditation, simply avoiding distractions or sitting down for breakfast. Make it a priority in the morning, so that you feel energised and ready to seize the day.
“Read as much as you possibly can. Nothing will help you as much as reading” says the highly successful billionaire author, J.K. Rowling. Whether you read a newspaper, a book, or an online article, after you have finished your breakfast, take some time to read. As reading is a way of educating yourself.
And finally on the list of morning habits for success, is acting on the goals that you have written down during the visualisation step. A plan is little more than potential if it isn’t put into action.
4 a.m. Early risers report superior productivity, wages, and quality of life than late sleepers, according to surveys done by Amerisleep. They reported, “those who managed to get out of bed at 4 a.m. –before the sun typically comes up – were highly productive 71 per cent of the time.” The least productive days began around 11 a.m., with only 36% of those who were late risers finding high output levels. Therefore, could the key to success be an early start? Why don’t you put it to the test tomorrow and wake up an hour earlier than usual?
In the mornings when we feel tired and sluggish when even a cup of coffee doesn’t help, there are a few things we can do to boost our natural energy according to Healthline:
